Tayogo and Aftershokz are both the best headphones companies in terms of their exceptional build quality of headphones and after-sales services. However, in terms of bone conduction headphones, the Aftershokz is way ahead of Tayogo.

If you don’t know, Tayogo launched their first Waterproof Bone Conduct Headset in 2017, making it the first company that dived into the bone conduction headphones industry. Aftershokz, on the other hand, launched their first most advanced wireless bone conduction headphones in 2019, after 2-years.

Aftershokz is way ahead of Tayogo in their priority and research and development in the bone conduction headphones industry. However, you can’t underestimate Tayogo.

In this article, we will compare two best products (one from each) from both of these brands in accordance with their sound quality, comfortability, design, battery backup, and many other aspects that can influence a potential customer.

Tayogo Vs Aftershokz

I have personally used both of these headphones and I am sharing my experience with you. So, there can be a difference between you and my experience.

Tayogo Bone Conduction Headphones

Design

The Tayogo S2 heads share several similarities with the Aftershokz. First, two cylindrical elements are attached to two arch shapes that wrap around your ear. Next, a few large pieces of plastic are attached to the arch shapes and contain the Bluetooth chip and control components, and finally, a flexible tube connects the two components.

The wires of these headphones are remarkably similar to the ones found in Bluetooth fitness earbuds; however, the rubber band that hangs around your head and sits awkwardly raised makes a big difference from what you’re used to.

Waterproofing Technology

The Tayogo S2 headphones have been IP55-certified, which means that most of their sensors are protected against dust infiltration, which should also mean that they will work just fine in the rain. They are not waterproof, nor are they resistant to water. For this reason, you should avoid wearing them when swimming or taking a shower.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of Tayogo headphones is never going to match the quality of sound you would get from any regular headphones.

The Tayogo S2 will be uncomfortable at higher volume levels (80% and above) due to the pinching effect the vibrations would have on your cheeks when I use the term loud. Ideally, this means that it would be better to keep it below 70%, but this will be impossible in a noisy environment.

The sound feels distant, and neither the bass nor the highs are pronounced, making listening to the music similar to listening to it from afar. There is some sound leakage in these headphones, so your close friends and family can hear what you are listening to, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the call.

Battery Backup

Tayogo S2 are decently comfortable to use, and I think they could last quite a while, depending on how big the battery is in these headphones. According to the manufacturers, these headphones are equipped with a powerful 200mAh battery that should last for up to six hours on a single charge.

Now we talk about the design, battery, and Sound quality of Aftershokz bone conduction headphones. The latest bone conduction technology, the AfterShokz Aeropex, is an exciting advancement in bone conduction technology, and we thought it would be a great idea to test it out.

Aftershokz Bone Conduction Headphones

Design

AfterShokz delivers great build quality since it is a bone conduction headphones market leader. I was not disappointed with the Aeropex. The rubber material felt nice to touch, and the device’s weight is easy to handle without feeling cheap.

Wireless bone conduction headphones are positioned comfortably between your cheek and ear, just above your temporal region. The headband goes around my head without touching it. Although the headphones clamped snugly to my head, my ears remained free and airy.

There are two inline controls on the headphones. On the left transducer, you can find a playback button, and upon the right underside of the headphones, you will find a power/volume button. The power/volume button is located on the same side of the device as the charging port.

Battery Backup

The headphones come with lithium batteries, and it is estimated that the headphones’ average run-time is around eight hours, but it may gradually decrease over time.

The AfterShokz charging cord is available in two pieces to keep one of them at your workplace and the other at home. It will take about two hours to charge the device. A magnetized charger is integrated into the device, making it convenient to charge the device.

Sound Quality

In general, the sound signature is characterized by a forward mid-range. I find the vocals to be clear, but I have a hard time distinguishing them. It can work with all kinds of music genres, including Pop, R&B, and Rap.

Even though the Aeropex can reproduce bass, it does so only in quantity rather than depth. If you want to have a greater bass effect, then you need to increase the volume gain. The vibration strength is increased by this process, resulting in the cochlear receiving a sense of bass. In other words, the bass is more of a boomy type of bass.

Waterproofing Technology

The AfterShokz Aeropex Open-Ear Endurance Headphones have an IP67 rating of waterproofing and can be used with mobile devices and computers, and laptops equipped with Bluetooth capabilities. This product is engineered to deliver a premium sound experience with a built-in battery that is long-lasting for added convenience.

Why Should You Buy Aftershokz Bone Conduction Headphones?

Aftershokz Aeropex has an excellent build quality in this product. For me personally, I find the sound quality to be sufficient for me to enjoy my workout sessions with this product. The comfort is excellent as well. They did not cause any physical discomfort to my ears whatsoever.

However, I wouldn’t want to use this device in many situations, like noisy public transportation, running beside a loud road, etc.

Why Should You Buy Tayogo Bone Conduction Headphones?

The S2 headphones have long battery life and are comfortable to wear, and they have equally long battery life. According to its manufacturer, a single charge of the Tayogo S2 can be used for six hours.

Despite some sound leakage, the call quality is fine, however, you may have to reduce the volume in quiet surroundings to avoid sound leakage.
